The
next issue of the newsletter will not be sent out until July 1st.
I will be on vacation at the end of the month.
Highlights of my trip included the Library of Congress in
Washington D.C. and the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.
I will trying to collect information for the newsletters.
In the meantime….keep those submissions coming.
If you have any land deeds or wills you have yet to transcribe, now
would be a good time to do that and then send them to me so we can all
share with you.
My
sister and I are continuing to try and get back issues on line. Issues of this newsletter will no longer be sent out via
e-mail but can be accessed at www.wattsline.org/gen.
I will send out notices when the new issue is posted each month.

At this point, I can only begin with John Watts, NC. Several Watts

Although I do not show it, I have documentation for the data except for
John and Judith. Their data come from circumstantial evidence.

Dear Lori
Many thanks for your welcome
email. Below are my details
I am a new subscriber and
hope to find out more about my WATTS roots.
I am in the process of setting up my web page
http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/w/a/t/Barbara-E-Watts
albeit not very good and hope to put photos and links on it time
permitting.
I am semi-retired and so hopefully can now devote time to this. I work at
Reading University and luckily have access to their library for my
research. My husband Colin is a 3rd year student there studying
Politics and International Relations.
I hope to post to the list any WATTS that I find on my travels looking
through the census. Now for my history
WATTS Arthur Albert m. ROSE Susan. Address 70 Canterbury Road in
1908 and (circ 1950s) Lizban Rd, London He was a house
painter/decorator. One of
their children was my father-in-law
WATTS Sidney George, (aka Sid) (b. 18 May 1908 (@ 70 Canterbury Road,
London) d 30 May 1973) my father-in-law. Sidney was married
to Edna May JEWELL (b.Jan 1904, d Jan 1992) on 26 June 1932 @ St.Crispins
Church, Bermondsey. They separated in 1948. They had one son
Colin Keith WATTS (b.7 March 1938.(my husband) When they were first
married they lived in Drummond Road, Bermondsey, London. In the
early years of their marriage they bought a house, 139 Westbrook Road,
Welling, Kent (where my husband was born) and I believe in later years the
singer Max Bygraves bought for his mother
Sidney's family came from Southwark/Blackheath/Greenwich. As a
youngster Sidney was a pageboy at the Hotel Cecil in London. Due to
ill health he did not serve in the forces. He was an insurance agent
and then had six shoe repair shops in South London 1939-1959 approx
but went bankrupt. In the
late 1940s/50s his parents lived in Lizban Rd, behind the Sun in the Sands
pub, near Shooters Hill.
He had six brothers and sisters. All the sisters died in childhood
and I know of one elder brother Bert WATTS who fought for the Black &
Tans in Ireland where he met his wife Pearl. I met him in the early
60s when he was an inspector for London Transport at Catford garage.
A younger brother, James WATTS, died when he was in the RAF he died from
peritonitus (circ 1930) after undergoing a routine appendix operation.
I have several CD roms
regarding the UK Census and am gathering lots of books to help me in my
research. I belong to a Genealogy club in Basingstoke which meets
once a month. During my search I find WATTS which are not mine so I
could always send them to the newsletter. I also belong to several
rootsweb lists.
I do hope you will enjoy
having this member from across the pond joining your group. Below is
my family tree for WATTS so far, not much, but it is early days yet.

Abraham Watts, c1805 SC > AL
I am looking for the parents and siblings of Abraham Watts, born c1805,
possible in South Carolina. He married first Tabitha Phillips and second
Lucelia Herring. He was in Tuscaloosa County, AL by 1825 where he married
Lucelia. The Herrings, Weavers, and others connected to him by marriage
came from Lexington Co., SC together so it is believed that Abraham came
from there also, but that cannot be proved. Children were Daniel Henry
Watts, born 1829 Tuscaloosa Co. and probably Phillip Morgan Watts, born
1840 Tuscaloosa, and Martha Watts, born 1839 Alabama. Any help will be
appreciated.

Later on in my line I
have a David Watts b1702 and his son Nathan b1732 m
Eliz Goodridge and their son Anderson B. Watts m Eliza Sandford in 1822. I
cant find much on them at all and there seems to be too long a time
between
Nathans birth and Andersons marriage. I have searched all of the
newsletters for more info but am stuck. Do you know of anyone
researching
this line?
