Those of us who have been researching this line have gotten back to Berrymon Watts (he may have come from Virginia or South Carolina)-then every thing stops. In one gedcom, there is an Elias "Ali" Watts who married (~1794 in NC) Eleanor "Nelly" Elender Mills daughter of Capt. William Mills who married Eleanor "Nelly" Morris. The paternal grandfather of Eleanor "Nelly" Mills was supposed to have been Ambrose Mills. This is the first time that I've seen anything about who our Wayne County, WV mysterious "Nelly" wife of Elias "Ali" Watts could have been. I don't doubt the author, but there is not concrete proof of any of this except the author had done a great job of tracing the Mills lineage. What I need is help in establishing who Elias' parents were and when and where was he born; having information about siblings would be wonderful. Do any of you readers have anything to offer or suggestions. We researchers are locked at 1810 in Kanawha County, VA (Now Cabell and Wayne Counties, WV) and can't find anything past this point. I am looking for any information on John William Watts who was born 1-1870-71 in Kentucky and died 1-1955 in Tennessee, he married Anne J. Reynolds who was born 6-1868. Their son was Jessie Washington Watts born 7-1895 died 7-1978 in Tennessee, he married Lonnie Jane Brooks born 11-1898 died 11-1991 in Tennessee. The information I am seeking is who his parents were and where did they come from. Also what county was he born in.

Josiah Watts, son of Thomas & Hannah Rust Boggess Watts married Martha Sessions. He was born about 1789 (census repoted 1792) If Martha was 'Mary' and so much older than he was that may be why I have no children from them.

John Boone Watts, son of Charles Watts & grand son of Thomas & Hannah, and father of Rebecca Francis Watts(married 16 June 1850) are the other two couples I can identify. Last couple may be in my book, but I couldn't identify in quick search... too many Johns. Copies of book are available.

Attachment covers Martha Ann and William. Since my posting, I have found that William had married Elizabeth Sapp prior to Martha Ann. Based on marriage dates and childrens birth dates, I have moved Orval Browning to the first marriage, leaving 8 children for Martha Ann and William. According to my FTM calculations, she is my 2nd Great-Grandmother.

(Martha Ann Watts was the daughter of Garrett Watts and Sarah Dalton and the granddaughter of John Watts and Lucy Dalton. Her great-grandparents were Jacob Watts and Elizabeth Dalton.)

Tuesday I rode the train to Los Angeles Public Library (my maiden voyage there!). Found a book listing 1855 "STATE" of Alabama Census. Below is the Watts and county where they lived. Thought you might post them in your newsletter. Levi Watts is my Great Grandfather. Highlighted are his brothers also living in Blount County Alabama (kin recently found copies will belonging to Samuel Jacob Watts (1812-1889) along with setelement papers filed by youngest brother Jacob V. WATTS in courthouse in Winston County Alabama listing Samuel's surviving brothers- Levi Watts, Survantus Watts, Jacob V. Watts and D. A. WATTS (female) (this is believed to be Dorcus Ann, widow to Rufus "Ellis"
