From: greg@eskimo.com(Greg)

Hello, I was just sent your name and address. I was told you put out a free Watts family newsletter. I would be interested in receiving a copy. I found a Watts line on my tree this week.

I just found the death records of my Cynthia Griggs. It listed her parents
as Martin Griggs and Liza Burgess.
A Burgess researcher tells me Liza parents were John Burgess and Cynthia
Watts b. 1812

I have no documentaion as yet, but if the information I go on Genserv and
the Watts E-Mail List is correct, this isb my Watts Line:

Cornelious Watts m. Anna
Edward Watts m. Anne
Thomas Watts b. 1690 m. Esther
John Watts b. 1722 m. Sarah Barnett
Juliua (Tulius) Watts m. Mary Eve
John T Watts b. 1786 m. Nancy Larence
Cynthia Wattsv m. John Burgess

Though again, I have no documentation yet.

Do you know of any books on this family? (see the reference to the Watts book below on this family)

Much thanks,

Greg

From: gbrown@ccsinc.com (Gertrude Brown)

His son Silas Watts was my ggrandfather and his son Monroe was my grandfather. My father was Earl Louise Watts, all from Ky. I belive that George W. was the son of John Watts aka Young Tassel. Born 1730 Ga. Died 1805 Ft. Payn Al. I have no proof that he is the father, and I have been serching for several years and have massed a good bit of information on this line. Ps. I would like to contact Tom and Mary , perhaps we can help each other as they are serching for Thomas Watts. I would also like the disk with the back issues of the newsletter, Do you know the cost of postage ?
Thanks again
G.W.B.

( big question I have had is the distribution of back issues. In the past I have sent them out in groups but as the list and number of issues grows I find this too time consuming. There has been some discussion of putting them on a Web Page but this has not happened as of yet. If you are interested in back issues I am sending will send out issues numbers 1-35 (particle 1996 and all of 1997) on a disc in Microsoft Word format for a fee of $5.00 to cover costs. Please e-mail me if you are ever interested. Lori)

Queries

From: RToddjr209@aol.com

Hi, I was just going to give up on ever finding another WATTS from Scotland when I saw your query. I don't know if there is any connection, but I hope so !
My Watts go like this:
1.James Watts, Scotland

2.St. Clair Watts,b. 1843, Glasgow,Scotland-died 1908,Talbot co.,Md.
+Sarah Elizabeth Lofland,b. 1844 Delaware-died 1888 Talbot co.Md.
On a copy of St. Clairs death certificate, it has cause of death Ptomaine Poisining caused by canned sardine's.St. Clair apparently remarried, according to his death
certificate his wife's name at the time of his death was Florence Frazier. I got his fathers name (James) off the the death certificate.

Watts - Bible
Lori - I am sending this info - maybe someone will recognize the names and
can get some answers.

This information was found in a Bible dated 1874, at the Virginia Historical Society, it once belonged to a family with the name of BOWEN. Copies of the Bible leaf's were made and donated to the VA Historical Society by a Mr. William E. Trout in 1981.

I contacted Mr. Trout in May of 1997, while in VA, and was told that he does a lot of historical research and in his findings was the Bible mentioned above. He has no other information to give - he has no idea where he came across it. As he may have had it for some time, before realizing that it had information he should give to the VA H. S.

This is the information found written in the Bible "Family Record" Marriages:
