The following is what I know about my connection to the Watts Family. My grandmother Carrie Alice Watts married Daniel Harrison Robinson.I remember as a child going to visit family and there last name was different than ours. When I asked why my dad said these were my grandmas relatives. SO to follw is all the information I have and this was told to my uncle by my grandmother a few years before she died.

Samuel Watts married Tillie Bressler no dates on these probably early 1800's birth dates. They were my gggrandparents. They had a son James A. Watts born 7/20/1871 he married Annie A. Benner 9/23/1894 she was born3/19/1875. James died4/27/1924. Annie died 4/27/1950. They were my ggrandparents. They had four children that I know of they were Irving, Samuel, Blanche, and my grandmother Carrie Alice Watts, born 2/26/1897 she married Daniel Harrison Robinson on 8/26/1916. they had sixteen children. She died 1/6/1987(my birthday). This is all I ahve on them as far as dates. My Watts family has always lived in PA as far as I know. I am going to contact my uncle again and see if anyone in the family has a bible with all of this information. Anything I get I will be glad to pass on. No one in my family seems to care about their background. I know now that I should have written down everything when my grandma was liiving and willing to give me the information. Oh well sometimes you just don't think. Thanks for letting me part of this newsletter, I will contribute as much as I can. Mary

My name and address is Charles Watts, My roots go back to Hillsboro, Hamilton Co. Ohio and before that possibly Virginia. The Virginia person may be Samuel Watts. The Ohio connection is Christopher Lewis Watts born Jan. 9 1855 in Hillsboro. He and wife Amelia Lydia Hill moved to Missouri, then to Montgomery Co. Iowa and then to Kellogg, Iowa.He was one of 6 or 7 children. This is a brief description. Could elaborate a little more. CWatts

6. From: sossoman@swbell.net (Jack Sossoman)

Thanks for adding me to the newsletter list. Lori, from the information I have, I have a 3rd great grandmother that was a "Nancy Watts". In the St. Joseph County, IN "Higgins Atlas" there is a Thomas Savidg/Savage Bio. that briefly mentions her. Thomas Savidg was my 3rd great grandfather and was married to Nancy. In this Bio. it mentions that her dad fought in the Rev. War and later died under General Brady. There was a James Watts that died in some military action at Wariors Run in 1808.  Also, the article mentions that her grandfather was killed by Indians and her uncle "Fred" escaped an Indian attack. This fits almost
identical with a "Sean Barry" web site description of his Watts family.  I would place Nancy being born between two of James Watts Jr. and Sophia Bruner's sons, John and Daniel, since she was born in 1898. I will place the web site below. This is basically all I have, which is not proof. I have been searching for Nancy's father for a number of months with no luck, except for the possibilities in this web site. Thomas Savidg and Nancy Watts's children are:

Julia Elizabeth Savidg b. ca. 1827 (my gg grandmother m. David Sossoman)
Robert Savidg b. 11 Aug 1826
John Savidg b. 20 Sep 1828
James Savidg b. 12 Sep 1830
David savidg b. 12 Oct 1832
Benjamin Savidg b. 14 Jun 1834
Sarah Savidg b. 1 Feb 1837
Margaret b. 5 Jul 1839

The Watts site I was referring to above is:

QUERIES

I am looking for any information on a John Watts, b. 18 Aug 1793 at Warriors Run, Northumberland Co., PA. His wife's pension request stated that he died 14 October 1851 at Harris Township, St. Joseph County, IN, while the 1892 History of Lycoming County, records the place of death as Elkart City, which is located in Elkhart County. I would like to clear up this matter. John Watts served in the military 1812-1813 and for this service, was issued a bounty land warrant, under the Act of 28
September 1850, for 40 acres at Harris Township, St. Joseph Co., IN.  Although I have no proof of it, I think it is possible he had a sister, Nancy Watts Savidg/Savage (my 3rd Great Grandmother, who lived near him in the 1850 St. Joseph County, IN Census. I am trying to determine the given name of Nancy's father, i.e., the request for information on John Watts.

Any help would be appreciated.
