Jacob Watts and Polly Hinton Family

In the last issue there was a query concerning the family of Jacob and Polly Watts.  Several of you responded to the query and asked for more information.
 Below is what I have but if any of you have something to add, please forward it to share.  Lori

Generation No. 1

1.  JACOB1 WATTS1 was born March 17, 1779 in Maryland, and died December 17, 1862 in Shelby Co., Kentucky.  He married POLLY HINTON July 18, 1804 in Shelby Co., Kentucky.

The information supplied for this family (for the Heineman book) was almost all supplied by Rev. E. C. Watts, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.  Some additional material was obtained from Census and other public records.

2.  WESLEY G.2 WATTS (JACOB1) died 1886 in Shelby Co., Kentucky.  He married FRANCES HIEAT May 10, 1840 in Anderson Co., Kentucky, daughter of MERIDEITH HIEAT.

Notes for WESLEY G. WATTS:
Wesley G. Watts died and left a will in Shelby County, Kentucky made October 23, 1871; proved May, 1886.  (Will Book 40, page 333).  In Will book 46, page 209 is a report of the sale of effects of Frances Watts reported by James Watts, administrator.

Will Book No. 40 page 333 Will of Wesley G. Watts.  Devises all his property both personal and real to his wife Frances Watts as long as she remains his widow or until her death.  Married Children have already received their shares.  Those remaining to do as they marry (no names are given).  Wesley Cook. Witness.  Dated October 23, 1871, probated May Term of Court 1886.

Bill of Sale of Frances Watts, Book No. 46, page 209 Jas M. Watts, Administrator, Census of 1840, Graves Co., Ky., lists a Wesley Watts who may be the Wesley above.  it shows him as between 30 and 40 years of age and his wife the same.  They had two males under five; one male, five to ten; one male, ten to fifteen; one male, twenty to thirty; one female under five, one
female five to ten; and two females ten to fifteen.

Estate file of  Lucy (Dalton) Watts

Lucy was the wife of John Watts of Albemarle Co., VA.  After John's death, Lucy moved from Albemarle Co. VA to Randolf Co., Mo where her daugher Mahala (Watts) Austin, and sons William and Elijah Watts were living.  William later moved from the county.  Lucy was living with her son Elijah at her death and she is buried next to him in the Oakland Cemetery in Moberly, Mo.  Her stone reads:

In memory of Lucy Watts
died Sept  16, 1844
aged 80 yrs 9mo 1 d

Know all men by their presents that we William Watts as principal and George Burkhart and Elijah Watts of Randolf County his securities are held and firmly live into the State of Missouri in the trust and _____ sum of five hundred dollars will and truly to be paid we bind ourselves as heirs.  We jointly and severally firmly by their presents sealed and created this the 1st day of September 1845. the condition of the above bond is such that if William Watts administrator of the Estate of Lucy Watts and shall faithfully administer said estate account for pay and deliver all money and property of said estate and perform all other things _________ said administrator required by law or that order of any court having complete jurisdiction that the above bond to be void else to remain in full force.

Watts full power and authority to administer all and singular the good, ____, rights, credit moneys and effects which were of the said Lucy Watts dec.,  Faithfully to _____ of the same according to Lein.  In testimony where of I have here unto got my hand and affixed the seal of said Court at office this 1st day of September 1845.  Reuben Samuel, Clerk of foregoing letters of claim recorded on the day of the date thereof and before delivering the same.
