Thank you to those who sent me their full name. It is very helpful. If you have not sent me your full name yet please do so to save me the time of e-mailing you directly. I also want to ask you to please send me a message if you do not receive a newsletter. I have had a couple newsletters come back as undeliverable. If they come back for any reason I have to delete the name from the mailing list so the others can receive their newsletter. This is the reason some of you are getting duplicates at times. Thank you for your cooperation. Lori ******************************************** 1. Members

(Linda L. Crawford Hi, This is in request of names and addresses. I am looking for Arenna Watts born 1852 in KY. In 1860 she was living with Maclin and Nancy Southard in Dallas County MO. Our query from earlier was to learn who she was and was she connected to the Southards. Nothing else has been learned about her. Linda

Steve Watts swatts@scvnet.com They were living in Bedford Co., VA per 1860 Census and it is believed they would have enlisted from Bedford Co. However, if they joined with other members of this WATTS family, they may have enlisted from Amherst Co., VA. Their names were:
William P. WATTS (my gg-GF) I don't know what unit(s) they served in.
I understand that the Library of Virginia may be one place to check
for records, but am not familiar with procedures, costs, etc.
I'm also curious what (if any) CSA service records might be
available from NARA. Thanks for any help! -- Steve Watts swatts@scvnet.com ******************************************** Column (1) Name of fortunate drawer . Example-Archibald Watts of Flournoy's Militia District Green County drew lot #107 in the 14th District of Wilkerson County. The land was in Telfair after it was formed Dec. 10 ,1807 is now in Dodge County The counties in row 6 are not absolutely correct for
example 15th district of Baldwin when the land was drawn was later partly
in Jasper, partly in Morgan, and partly in Putnam
COUNTY OF RESIDENCE GREEN COUNTY
COUNTY OF RESIDENCE JACKSON COUNTY
COUNTY OF RESIDENCE TATTNALL COUNTY
COUNTY OF RESIDENCE WASHINGTON COUNTY
The 1805 Land Lottery settled original Wayne Co in
the southeast corner of Ga and the first 5 districts of original Baldwin
and Wilkerson Counties The 1807 lottery completed distributing districts 6 through 20 in Baldwin, and 6 through 28 in Wilkerson. This lottery with the 1805 lottery opened up for
white settlers the vast oval between the Oconee and Ocmulgee Rivers and
the Indian frontier was moved father west from the Oconee to the Ocmulgee
River. The capital had also
moved to Milledgeville in Baldwin County. . There was a migration of state
officials and business men made this an important part of the state. Wilkerson was soon divided into Laurens, Telfair, Dec 1807. Twiggs 1809, then these counties were later divided into Dodge, Wheeler, and part of Montomery also the County lines were moved around. (Pulaski was formed from Laurens in 1808) Some of Baldwin was divided into Jones 1807, Morgan
1807, Putnam 1807, Randolph 1807 (name changed to Jasper in 1812), Georgia
counties have been divided and redivided and county lines moved many many
times. The 1807 index only gives the fortunate drawers. The
1805 listed all of the people who had a draw or draws in this lottery. Submitted by User181801 - Barbara Waldrop ******************************************** Notes from the Records of
