HELP!! With the growing number of persons receiving the newsletter it is becoming increasingly difficult to organize the mailing list. Our list has grown to almost eighty Watts researchers. Here is the problem...Some of you I only know by a first name basis, others only by screen name and others I’m not even sure because you use your spouse’s screen name. I also get requests weekly for persons changing their e-mail address. How do you alphabetize something like that?
I NEED EVERYONE TO E-MAIL ME WITH THEIR FULL NAME.
Actually a first and last would be ok but if your maiden name is
Watts that would be nice to know also.
I would also like to keep a list of your postal address if you so
chose to send it to me. I
will never use it in a newsletter without prior permission.
Address will be given out by yourself on a need to know basis.
Please e-mail me as to save me time sending out individual
messages. This will prevent
numerous problems in keeping up with the mailing list.
Thank you for your help!
Lori P.S. If you haven’t sent in your family line please do so. If you have already sent in a family line but would like to update it and resubmit please feel free to do so. ******************************************** Contents: ******************************************** My great grandmother was Hattie Elizabeth Watts

I am very pleased with the two newsletter that I have recieved. I think you are doing a great service to our families.
I am the historian of our Watts Family Association in Kentucky.
We are from the "Lost" Watts family.
We descend from George Washington Watts (born abt 1775 in Virginia
or North Carolina, possibly on Sept. 2, 1777).
We can make no connection on back further.
We know that he married Emily "Millie" Noble from
Fredrick County, Virginia. George
was a farmer and hunter. He
and Millie married about 1800, shortly before they came to Kentucky with
Millie's family, the Nobles. They
settled in what is now Breathitt County, Kentucky and raised eight
children. George Washington
died about 1852/1860 in Breathitt County and Millie died about
1864/69.
That is the extent of what we know.
George was possibly the son of William Watts and Jane (Hord). They had a son names Lt. Washington Watts born sept. 2, 1777.
Yet we do not know if this is our George.
Could you please include this information in your next newsletter. We might just be able to connect with a Watts family in VA or
NC that has the info our family needs. Thanks and keep up the good work!!!! ********************************************* Middle

not in this book. However, I
do have marriage books for Montgomery, Cheatham, Davidson, Robertson and
Greene Co., TN. As well as, a
CD containing VA, KY, TN, NC, from early to 1850.
If anyone ever wants me to look one up from one of the above books

1805 GEORGIA LAND LOTTERY This is the Lottery in Georgia that has been used in
place of census since adult
males, orphans, and widows were allowed to draw.
P*=Prize B=Blank
To determine if the land lot was actually taken up by the fortunate
drawer, one should inquire of the Surveyor General, Georgia Department of
Archives and History, Atlanta Georgia Counties formed ' Notice 4 Thomas Watts and orphans of 2 others.
4 of them in Green County The numbers that are close probably mean that the people lived near each other. Notice how the children of my Thomas (Archibald, Littleberry, Jacobus, Harrison, Pleasant )were all mixed in with the sons of Thomas Jr/Hannah. and with some of the children of Richard. (Jubel was probably not 21 years of age and is not listed) We think that Thomas of Little River was ours as he was on the tax list with 136 acres of land and when he died in 1813 Jubal had 136 acres on the next tax list. Who was the Sally #1766 between Pleasant #765 and Prestley #767? (BGW) Thomas Jr (Husband of Hannah had already died and I
think that the Orphans of Thomas in Hancock Co were their younger
children.. People who were allowed to draw Submitted by Barbara Goggans Waldrop - User181801@aol.com ******************************************** William

you might be interested in the following message I received from FAMILY
PAPERS. I haven't checked
they out yet, so don't know how legitimate the outfit is.
Be sure to check out the web site mentioned in the message. This e-mail is to introduce FAMILY PAPERS. FAMILY PAPERS has been formed to help family
historians/genealogists locate, own and preserve authentic documents and
letters pertaining to their ancestors. While there are significant collections of
records available to genealogists in government institutions and
libraries around the country, there remain hundreds of thousands of
vintage documents available for private ownership.
Unfortunately most of these documents are lying forgotten and
ignored due to the lack of an organized market.
Recently some home shopping catalog have tried marketing these
documents as home decoration accent pieces!!
At FAMILY PAPERS we feel the appropriate place for these documents
is with the descendants of the people mentioned or signing these
documents. The mission of FAMILY PAPERS is to help identify
those vintage documents and reunite them with people interested in
preserving their family's history. Over
the past few years we have built a significant archive of these documents
which we are adding to regularly. It would be most appreciated if you could take a
moment to look at our Web Site (http://www.familypapers.com/~jimren)
and, if you think it appropriate, please tell members of your
society/association about FAMILY PAPERS. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
I would welcome any comments or suggestions you may have. Jim Hier Submitted by WYL244@tislink.com
