D Gombert/Picker - kgombert @
hotmail.com Currently I have been concentrating all of my efforts
on my mother's side of the family with the surname of Bussard.
Consequently, I have not done a great deal of research on my
father's line which is Watts. My
father's name is John Phillip Watts born in Akron, OH. in 1939.
His father was also named John Watts and he married Lucie
Romenstant around 1938 in Akron,OH. They
were divorced when my father was 5 and that's about all I know. From:
kgombert@hotmail.com
(Kelly Gombert) I made a mistake in the dates for my father's birthday. John Philip Watts was born 20 Aug 1937 and his parents had been married for about a year. His parents, John Watts and Lucie Romenstant must have been married in 1936 in Akron, OH. 2. Tom
Durham Keywood.......keywood@olypen.com Daniel Watts is my ggg grandfather, and Thomas Watts, my gggg grandfather was married to Lavina Huntley. Daniel married Frances Shepherd from Lanes Creek, Anson County, North Carolina. Frances (1805) Shepherd's parents were William Shepherd Jr. (1775) and Elizabeth Yerby (1775). William Shepherd Jr. 's parents were William Shepherd Sr. (1744) and Jamimiah Johnson. Elizabeth Yerby (1775) parents were Everette Yerby and Sarah McMillian. Everette's parents were William Yerby (1728) from Lancaster, Virginia and Frances Margaret McTyre. William Yerby's parents were John Yerby and Katherine Stamps. Lavina Huntly's parents were Thomas Huntley Sr. who moved to Anson County North Carolina from Bedford County, Virginia about 1761, and Zilpha Meadows (possibly Sarah Zilpha Meadows) , whose parents were Jason Meadows and Elizabeth Stone. I have information on the children of each and would like to share what I have if anyone is interested. My sources are from Barry J. Meachum of Wadesoro, North Carolina, a Watts genealogist who retrieved information from "Thomas Huntly Sr. of Anson County North Carolina" by Virgil W. Huntley of Mystic Conn., published by Taylor Pub. Co., Dallas, Texas 1988. Copy in Anson County Public Library LHG 929.2 H. Additional information : 1. Deed Thomas Watts to Thomas Watts 1831 Sheila Firehair Stover has been sent my Watts file (those related to Daniel 1800), and my FTW (Family Tree Maker) file has over 15000 entries of related families which are too numerous to include. To those with FTW and E-mail, I will try to E-mail this out if you send me your address. I often have to work out of town, and therefore I do not get E-mail until I return which is briefly on weekends. I'd rather quit my job as a general contractor and concentrate entirely on genealogy and reunions and visiting, but unfortunately, that is not an option at this time. I hope to hear from you and maybe our collective pieces of the puzzle will jive. Thanks for doing the newsletter.*** My genealogy to Watts is as follows: Tom Durham Keywood, son of I cannot
prove anything further on my Watts line and I welcome any help on finding
Thomas' father. Clue#1 There was a John Wats mentioned in the 1763

gladly pay copying and postage to any cousins out there who can help me
out with proof suitable for DAR. Thanks 3. Mary L.
Watts - warrior32@juno.com My Father was David Daniel Watts who was married to Ora Mae (Peggy) Green(e) who is my mother. His Father was Jesse Washington Watts who was married to Lonnie Jane Brooks. Jesse's Father was John Watts who was married to Annie or Anne Reynolds and after either death or their divorce, John Watts was later married to Jenny Harper. BIO#266 - LIVINGSTON CO - ADAMS, DAVID] Kentucky: A
History of the State, Battle, Perrin, Kniffin 2nd ed., 1885 Livingston Co. DAVID ADAMS. The gentleman whose name introduces this sketch and whose portrait appears in this work, was born January 19, 1834, in Livingston County, Ky. Of his parents, but little can now be learned, as they died when he was a mere child. Their names were George and Jennie Adams, and they were probably natives of the State of Virginia. They settled in Livingston County, Ky., soon after their marriage, and at the time of their death had four children, viz: Ellen, wife of R.R. Hastings, of Livingston County; David; Jackson, since deceased, and William H. Adams, now of Florida. After the death of his parents, the subject of these lines found a home and kind friends in the family of John and Mary A. Neely, then living in southern Illinois. He continued as a member of this family until he had attained to the age of sixteen years, at which time he returned to his native county and engaged as a farm hand with Joseph Watts, who then owned the land now comprising a part of the farm of Mr. Adams. This esteemed gentleman, whose memory is tenderly cherished by our subject, soon discovered the merits of his young employe [sic], as was evidenced by the fact of his retaining him from year to year with increased wages. His wife also, whose name is Lucinda D. Watts, and who is still living, proved herself a devoted wife and mother, whose many deeds of kindness are as a bright page in the book of memory. When about twenty-four years old, Mr. Adams purchased the first tract of land he ever owned; it consisted of 200 acres and was bought wholly upon credit. With this land, a yoke of oxen and a cart, and 50 cents in money, he began the battle of life on his own merit. Having early in life acquired habits of industry and honesty, which have ever been his chief characteristics, he found the road to success open before him, and these virtues have combined to elevate him to the distinction of "kind of farmer" in his county. As an evidence of his appreciation of and attachment to Mr. Adams, Mr. Watts, in his will, made him an equal heir to his homestead farm.
He now owns 1,400 acres of land and is devoting especial care to
the breeding of "short-horn" cattle.
On March 4, 1863, Mr. Adams married Miss Georgia, daughter of Lewis
and Cynthia Hunter; the father now of Texas, the mother long since
deceased. Mrs. Adams died
January 26, 1883, the mother of the following named children: Susie, wife
of Henry H. Hibbs; Lizzie (deceased), Lula, Cora, Lewis Hunter, Nettie and
David L. Adams. Submitted by barbwire@midusa.net (Barb Boese) ******************************************** Watts on
